February 25 Letter to St. Theresa Community
Posted on 02/25/2021

Dear St. Theresa School Parents and Guardians,

We have been advised by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) that a member from the St. Theresa School community has tested positive for Covid-19.  Through case management and contact tracing, the Health Unit determined that there is no risk to the school community, as the individual was not on premises during their infectious period. The individual and all household members are currently self-isolating.

Following the advice of the Health Unit, the school will remain open to students and staff.  To view the Health Unit's announcement, please visit their website.

For reasons of privacy, the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board and the Health Unit are prohibited from sharing any details with the public that may identify individuals in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act.

Regular, enhanced cleaning measures continue to be in place and include disinfecting and thoroughly cleaning all areas students and staff are in contact with.  In addition, we continue to follow all enhanced health and safety protocols inclusive of daily self-screening, strict student cohorting, masking requirements, and enhanced hand hygiene.

Should you have any questions regarding the school and childcare screen or if you have symptoms of Covid-19, call your healthcare provider or the Health Unit at 1-800-563-2808, option 6. If you have severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, call 911 and mention your symptoms.

We thank all of our parents in advance for your continued support of the recently updated school and child care screening tool and the importance you place on daily self-screening.  Please continue to monitor your email and Edsby accounts for any additional information that may become available.

Sincerely,

Anna Marie Bitonti

Director of Education
